Sign up for an exciting afternoon learning how to fill and fry your own sambuus and share your experiences with student debt. We can't think about a responsible recovery without working together to understand what this means for students and their escalating debt and interest. Policy and baking, what could be better?
A sambuus also known as a samosa is a fried or baked pastry with a savory filling, such as beef, chicken, potatoes, or even lentils! Across the world, these may take on different forms, but traditional sambuus from Somalia are usually filled with some kind of meat and form a triangular shape.
Sign up today and you’ll receive an ingredient and shopping list for baking alongside Hawa. We’ll include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options in the instructions.
Please note, this is a fundraiser for Hawa’s election readiness in York South—Weston. There are free tickets available for anyone who wants to participate. Click here for a free ticket - limited to 20!
A portion of the ticket sales will be tax deductible. To be eligible to donate, the donation must be made from your personal account, and you’ll have to provide us with your address information. You must also be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident to donate.
Even if you cannot donate, I hope you’ll come!
